What: Rock & Republic Runway Show, New York City Fashion Week Spring 09

The Lowdown: If you're in to easy mix and match dressing, this collection is for you -- basic black and white, mostly in solid separates, ready to pull together in a way that's both easy and edgy. It is a rock and roll sensibility, however, so you have to have the attitude to match to be able to pull off the skinny pants, skinny ties, and zippered, 80s influenced jackets. Rock & Republic has cut you a little slack, however, including some slightly slouchier straightleg pants, lean motorcycly-inspired leather jackets, and fitted dress shirts. The shoes? Pointed toe tie oxfords in black, or white. There's also a sheer black t-shirt somewhere in the collection, but we're choosing to ignore that.

Budget Solution: This is going to be so easy to pull off for Spring. Black slim jeans? Check. Black shirt? Check. Black skinny tie? Black jacket? Black oxfords? Check check check. And the attitude? Well, you'll just have to bring that part on your own . . .
