The Man-o-brow: Grooming Tips

It has various names—unibrow, monobrow, or for the purpose of this entry, the man-o-brow—but regardless of what you call it, unless you’re a member of Oasis, it’s not cool to have one. But fear not, gentle reader, for the man-o-brow is easily taken care of and can make a world of difference.

For all intents and purposes, there are essentially two ways you can handle a man-o-brow: use the razor you shave your face with, or use tweezers. If you choose to use your razor, it’ll be quicker and much less painful, but you risk slipping and shaving off a chunk of the part of your eyebrow you wanted to keep.

The second option—using tweezers—is probably the best and smartest way to go about it, even though it is much more time consuming and can be painful. Try getting your girlfriend, wife, or any other willing party in on the act. Women seem to really enjoy plucking those hairs out—especially when they’re not their own. If, however, you end up doing it yourself, you should note that the inside of the eyebrow should be relatively even with the inside of the eye it’s floating above. And the tweezers you use shouldn’t be the ones found inside your Swiss Army knife; they should be relatively substantial like these from Revlon which you can get for a couple bucks at just about any grocery or drug store (find a pair with diamond or rubber tips and it'll make it even easier to grip the hair you're trying to pluck out).

It should also be noted that reading an article about cleaning up your eyebrows does not mean you should enter the world of sculpted eyebrows. That makes it look like you tried WAY too hard. But the difference between a man-o-brow and a nicely separated set of eyebrows could make a significant difference in how that girlfriend, wife, or hottie across the bar looks at you.
