Lanyard Necklace: Weekly Splurge

August 16, 2008 09:00 AM

What: Depart from the norm with a black double braided lanyard necklace from Oak, $138.

Why it’s worth the splurge: A New York Times critic described Oak’s casual wear as “recklessly edgy.” If there’s one piece that simply represents Oak’s eccentric nature, it’s this thick lanyard necklace. The innovative, sporty necklace is made out of nylon hiking rope and gunmetal hardware with blue stitching. It adds an unconventional vibe to the standard jeans and t-shirt that will turn heads, in a recklessly edgy way.

Buy it: @ Oak

OK, I know fashion hurts but $138? Ouch! I bet I could build something just like it for $40 with chord from an REI Sporting Goods store; then maybe sell it at Target for $49, lol!
