What: Mixing up an average suit or blazer by adding a sweater vest

What We Say: Even if you have a vest that goes with the suit, keeping a sweater vest handy makes your wardrobe just that much more versatile. It doesn't hurt, either, that the look is making it's way into the pages of Men's Vogue and GQ. The key to wearing it right? Well, it's really not that hard -- assuming you have an eye for matching stuff (if you don't, please ask someone who likes you). An open collar is probably best, but a pocket square -- in an interesting color or pattern -- can definitely add a little personality.

Buy it: We like this men's striped sweater vest from Old Navy, a bargain at $15, and this solid sweater vest from Gap, $39.50. For something a little more standout, how about this Banana Republic cotton/cashmere vest, $49.50.
