At Home Genetic Test for Baldness

The end of the comb-over? Possibly...

Bosley, the surgical hair implant (i.e. hair plug) people is offering a genetic kit that tests for the male "bald" gene.

Here's how it work: You pay $149 for a home testing kit. You swab your cheek, mail the swab to HairDx , they analyze it, and then send you the results via the web.

Now male patterned baldness is one of the great concerns of the world, right up there with poverty and whether the Knicks will ever get their act together. But, is it such an issue that you would actually consider paying $149 to send your DNA to a corporation who would then store it in a database that's just begging to be hacked into?

Seriously...
