Win a Casio G-Shock

May 20, 2008 01:00 PM

Every man, regardless of his income level, should have a signature piece, which is simply a piece of apparel, an accessory, etc that you're known for, as in, "Gee, Mark sure wears the cool socks". A signature piece is sort of like a style calling card and if you're broke this is the one piece of clothing that you should focus your shopping dollars on.

Now, a signature piece could be fresh sneakers, great suits, crazy ties, etc, but for most of us watches is the safest and easiest choice. Perhaps no watch is more fly that the Casio G-shock. This old school classic, that has reemerged thanks to sk8rs and hip-hop heads like Spike Lee and Kanye West, is a must for any true watch collector and has a cool factor several notches higher than a crazy expensive Tag Heuer.

And, because we love you like a cousin, you can win the Casio G-shock above (in white), by leaving a comment below describing your signature piece.

Or you can buy one at Amazon.com

My signature piece is my hairdo. I use gatsby hair clay which gives a great lifting effect without looking too plastic.

I’m 28 and still broke, so my signature ‘piece’ is a white hanes t-shirt that i stenciled “Cassius Clay” in script onto, just like the one Ali wore back in the day!  Yeah I know, pretty lame, but it’s a good motivator for when I need to try and exercise, and girls think my name is Cassius instead of Mike.

My signature piece? Something money can’t buy. Confidence. It goes with everything. I guess with confidence, everything you wear is a signature piece.

My signature peice is my Versace eyeglasses. They are square, which is perfect to compliment my round face. I don’t go anywhere without them.

My signature piece is a Fossil Arkitekt. I bought this thing in the Athens airport in 2002, just after I graduated college. I’m now an attorney, still wearing this thing.

Maybe time for an upgrade.

Every guy has to have a classic looking stainless steel watch, ideally the Omega Speedmaster Chrono with the rolex style band.

Agree?

A 3” wide leather cuff made by Freddie Matara is my signature piece. It’s dark brown, fits just right, and only looks better with age.

I don’t actually have an item as my signature piece, its actually my hair. I have red hair and I always spike it up some way. It usually starts out as an ivy-crew cut(the little flip up in the front) and ends up spiked out everywhere(after going months without a haircut). At least my signature piece isn’t one that can be lost.

If It wasn’t for my red hair, I’m sure people wouldn’t notice me at all. Ever since I was a little kid I always had women coming up to me saying “awww that red hair is so pretty”. Sure they were old women, but you can’t say no to a comment like that.

I love that G-Shock, and the fact that it comes in white is even better.

Without a doubt, my signature piece is my confidence. In fashion, we as men are often restricted to stick to the status quo. I say stand out and take risks. Confidence is key; anyone who wears a risky new style with confidence will be seen as a trend setter rather than an awkward mess. So get out there, be yourself and don’t be afraid to think and dress outside the box!

My signature piece is my tungsten carbide black ring. Goes with everything, it works fine while dressed down or dressed in suite.
