What: Rip Curl Nitro Khaki Walkshorts, $52
Why it’s worth the splurge: Just like a nice suit, every guy needs a nice pair of khaki shorts. Especially if you have trouble dressing yourself — these will go with just about anything (you don’t have to give much thought to matching stuff up). They also double as serious storage, with five pockets in all. The subtle design on the bottom front pocket is a nice touch but because it’s not a crazy color, it won’t throw your overall outfit off. You don’t have to be a surfer dude from Cali to appreciate quality cargo shorts.
