What: Purple has, since last fall, been big in women’s fashion. Now, it looks like guys will be donning the shade as well.

Don’t just take our word for it: According to AskMen.com’s NYC fashion blog: “New York’s fashion elite, for example, are miles ahead of the fall 2008 fashion game as they are loading up on garments bathed in purples, plums and every other shade in between.”

The bottom line: Okay, we’re not talking Prince in Purple Rain here. Instead, think more subtle hues—plum, aubergine (the fancy word for eggplant, natch), etc. Like the aforementioned New York fashion elite, get a jump on the trend with this quality and classic Gap oxford, $39.50, and it’ll last you through fall, at least.
