Wear This: Plaid Sneakers for Fall

What: Want to add a little personality to those ho-hum fall neutrals? Try plaid sneakers as a weekend option.

Don’t just take our word for it: From Men.Style.com: “. . . readers will recall we included a pair of plaid Adidas sneakers in one of our Fall 2007 Trend Reports, and it turns out even more check kicks are on their way.?

The bottom line: Plaid is big for fall, and donning plaid sneakers is an easy way to update your wardrobe without investing in a high-ticket item like a blazer or trench coat. Neutral plaids, like this Converse Chuck Taylor All Star version, are easiest to wear, but colors are definitely out there if you are bold enough to pull it off. A word of caution: a little plaid goes a long way. Keep the rest of your look simple, even monochromatic, to make it work.
