What: J. Crew’s handcrafted vintage leather belt, $155.

Why it’s worth the splurge: Leather belts are fairly standard and their buckles ... well, they can be pretty boring themselves. We were yawning until we caught wind of J. Crew’s brown leather belt. The inch and a half wide belt stands out with an octagon-shaped buckle. They are individually crafted with an old school leatherwork machine while the hardware is made out of solid brass and polished off to affix a vintage vibe.
