Fashion Trend: The Stingy Brimmed Hat

June 25, 2008 12:00 PM

According to the LA Times, there's a new hat in town -- an update of the traditional fedora (which was hot last summer), with a "stingy" brim (in other words, it's narrower). It's kind of the cousin of the porkpie, but with the typical turn-up in the back. Anything that harkens to the Rat Pack but still looks modern is okay with us, style-wise. More than okay actually. It's downright cool. Some versions you should be wearing this summer (with crew-neck shirt and chinos, or v-neck tee and bermudas perhaps):

Livity Be Fair Fedora, $32, Urban Outfitters

Sewn Ribbon Fedora, $14.99, Target.com

Toyo Straw Fedora Hat, $16, Berkleyhat.com
