Ed Westwick as Chuck in Gossip Girl

Whether you’ve seen it or not, you probably heard of the television soap opera, Gossip Girl. Put the teenage drama plot aside and you’re left with trendsetting characters that inspire looks – or at least urges you take a second glimpse. Ed Westwick’s character Chuck, the token spoiled bad boy, combines preppy styles with bold colors. In this scene he opts for yellow and argyle with a pair of classic khakis.

The shirt: Daisy yellow oxford shirt from Old Navy, $15.

The vest: Red and white argyle sweater vest from Brooks Brothers, $89.90. For a cheaper red option, Cutter & Buck’s rib vest in wine from Nordstrom is $59.99.

The pants: Chino ginseng woven twill straight leg and flat front pants from the Gap, $44.50.

Is that argyle or just plaid? Is there a difference?

Good post, but I’m not much of a fan of the outfit. Don’t think I’m a big fan of the vest with an open collar.

That isn’t argyle.

no it’s argyle, but the sweater vest featured in the link is close and in the spirit of Chuck’s vest. The idea is not to find the exact same thing (which is amazing hard) but something that is a similar style/spirit

The exact sweater can be yours for $300, originally $600 at Brooks Brothers. It’s part of their Black Fleece line designed by Thom Brown. It’s so nice, and I get complimented on it all the time.

It cannot be found on their site, however the matching cardigan can be. Which is on sale for $600 in case you were wondering.
