Casual Friday: The Look

June 12, 2008 06:00 PM

Casual Friday just isn't about golf shirts anymore according to Details, so ease into the weekend with madras shirts, slim knit ties and a pair of faded jeans. The magazine recommends opting for a navy cardigan instead of a blazer, and wearing it with gray trousers and a crew-neck tee won't make you less office-worthy either. Check this inexpensive outfit below for a guide:

GAP Madras Shirt

The shirt: Long-sleeve plaid shirt available in three colors from the Gap, $29.50.

The jeans: Dark wash regular fit jeans from DKNY, $39.99.

AE Belt

The belt: Classic leather belt in black or brown from American Eagle, $24.50.

Heritage 1981 Grid Tie

The necktie: Silver and black grid tie from Heritage 1981, $9.90.

HEY! I read your blog all the time and pass the tips on to my extremely busy fiance. I try to get him to step out of the box sometimes when it comes to fashion, yet he is usually reluctant. Instead of the usual baggy fit jeans I attempted to get him to try a better fitted pair. We were in Pac Sun and he seemed to like a dark blue pair of str8 leg jeans. Two days later, he took them back. When working he is usually in a button down, and Khakis. I love the way he looks in everything, but can you provide a inspiration especially for him to try something new.I’m sure its not the same as the way women feel when trying a new style. Maybe more color in his office wardrobe, ties, and more casual/dress clothes and shoes when we go out. Not just tennis shoes, jeans, and timbalands, or polo style boots.
