Do Good: Hit TV Show House Raises Funds and Awareness for Mental Health Issues

I was first introduced to Fox’s hit TV show “House” during a particularly grueling cross country flight. Unable to rest properly (I am SO envious of people who can sleep on planes), I started to flip through the channels on the the back of my seat (Continental Airlines and Jet Blue both have personal televisions IN COACH.. love those airlines) and stumbled on the House series. For the next 6.5 hours, I watched about 7 episodes of the show and fell in love.

So as a fan of the show, I LOVE how the cast is using their celebrity to help a great cause. The cast and crew of the hit medical drama is sponsoring an exclusive line of T-shirts to help shine a light on mental health issues. The tees are high-quality American Apparel 100% cotton shirts, and also come packaged with a special thank-you card from the cast.  The shirts are emblazoned with the phrase “Everybody Lies? – perhaps best-known of the phenomenon known as “House-isms,? the biting but always accurate one-liners uttered by the brilliant diagnostician Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie).

The cost is $19.95 apiece, with 100% of the proceeds going to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.  The sale began this past Monday and runs for a limited time only.

Additionally, several items signed by the HOUSE cast – including “Everybody Lies? tees and HOUSE DVDs – are going up for auction at www.housecharitytees.com, with proceeds going to NAMI.  The auction goes live Tuesday, May 1 and runs for seven days.
